Starting his professional career as an engineer in Maharashtra State Electricity Board and after a brief stint in private sector as Instrument Engineer, he joined CSIR as a scientist in 1969 and was based at Central Scientific Instruments Organisation, Chandigarh till retirement on superannuation in February 1995. After retirement, the author pursued a teaching assignment to B.Tech (Instrumentation) students at SLIET, Longowal (Punjab) as a visiting faculty on regular basis followed by a part time lecture assignment to M.Tech (instrumentation) students at T.T.T.I., Chandigarh.
